National Association of Realtors (NAR) Lawsuit

I’m sure you’ve heard about the lawsuit with the National Association of Realtors…as of now, the settlement is a proposal and there are still months ahead of unfolding what’s to come.

What we can always expect is change, right?  We’ve become masters of that over the past 20+ in an ever-changing industry with ever-changing markets.

Primarily, the changes will impact how an agent who represents a buyer will be paid their service fee. And while practices and contracts used here in San Diego have always been clearer than most, we can’t speak on behalf of practices in Illinois and Missouri – where the class action was initiated.  Given it’s a national organization, we anticipate changes taking effect by July, so there will be more clarity in the coming months.
